Getting a 4×4, driving a 4×4 or even when you look to hire a 4×4, like anything you have to be careful. When right, you’ll great, get it wrong and you could look equally outrageous as these below:
Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6X6 Brabus 700
With this first one, we’ll hold our hands up. We’ve broken the rules! This is actually a 6 wheel, but it does fulfil the criteria for being outrageous. Brabus being a tuning company will naturally turn out some impressive numbers with whatever they choose to put their hands on the G 63 is no exception. Boasting 536bhp from its twin-turbo V8, you’d be sure to move aside if you saw this rolling towards you.
You may think this isn’t that outrageous, that’s probably because you’re thinking of Hummer’s H2, or the type of HTML text. The H1, in this sense, is neither of these things. Hated by environmentalists but loved by those who simply believe in the fact that ‘bigger is better’, this huge monster of a 4×4 is simply magnificent in terms of scale, if nothing else.
A true throwback to the 80s, this 4×4 is everything that you should expect from an outrageous 4×4. With a V12 engine and impressive body work, Lamborghini certainly made a statement with this entry. It had its issues though, such as the £3,000 tyres (that’s per tyre), from Pirelli that this rolled on.
Bowler EXR S
Ever since 1984, Bowler have been turning out Land Rovers that are more than fit to take to the off-road landscape. With 550bhp, ginormous Brembo brakes and a stunning body kit, this road legal off-roader is nothing short of mental.
